         Abstract

Masters Project 1 topic during semester 1; “Human Body as Metaphor for Functional Architecture” addressed the linguistic
re-framing of the human body and its relation to Architecture in modern culture.
By researching the metaphor of the body and its relation to architecture, we can collect pragmatic, semantic and syntactic philosophy as linguistic context, distinguishing the relationship of the physical form and the conceptual space of a structure.
By reading the symbolism of the human body we can observe core changes in the metaphorical structuring of architectural strategies. The results showed a new contextual language and vocabulary that binds diverse aspects of knowledge, design and aesthetics together, promoting a new decay of fragmentation of existing symbolism and structure while achieving closure.
The metaphorical use of the human body and its parts reveals not only currents or hidden considerations but also the structure
and culture of modern society.

During the twentieth first century era, interaction with architecture spanned.
It relates and connects with digital projections and media - facades or Lighting effects in urban spaces while offering boundless prospective for new forms of human interaction with collaborative multi-users scenarios.
The aim of the seminar presentation is to provide accountable resourced representation and a description of the way the body is symbolized through architecture by metaphor languages.

It also aims to re- represent the digital media concept by engaging a portion of an architectural structure or form with Live or memorized scenes - through sensors and advanced mechanical system - while detecting and relating it to human body movement, transforming it into interactive, dynamic architecture.
